한스 프라이

한스 W.  프라이(Hans Wilhelm Frei, 1922년 4월 29일- 1988년 9월 12일)는 성경 해석학에 관한 활동으로 잘 알려진 성경학자이자 신학자였다. 프라이의 활동은 그가 조지 린드벡과 함께 후기 자유주의신학(내래티브 신학 혹은 예일신학파)을 발전시키는데 큰 역할을 한 것이다. 그는 독일에서 유태인의 가정에서 태어나서 미국에 이민왔었다. 그러나 유대문화는 그에게 큰 영향을 주지 못하였다. 오히려 루터교에서 세례를 받았다. 예일 대학교에서는 유명한 신학자 리처드 니부어의 강의를 듣고 니부어의 지도하에 카를 바르트의 계시론에 대한 논문도 썼다. 그의 가장 잘 알려진 영향력있는 작품은 1974년의 책 Eclipse of Biblical Narrative (Yale University Press)이다. 이 책은 18세기와 19세기 영국과 독일에서 성경해석학의 역사를 다룬 것이다. 프라이는 예일 신학부에서 교수사역을 마감하였다.
